Ed Miller Stars, but Opposition Bowls Over Crimson, 16-11

In its opening match of the season, the Varsity fencing team was defeated 16-11 by the Hartford Fencers Club at the Indoor Athletic Building last Saturday.

The best showing for the Crimson was made by Ed Miller, captain of the team, who won his epee specialty twice, and lost only once to Basten of the Connecticut team. Miller defeated Wadman, 2-0 and Roudakoff, 2-0. H. B. Holcombe, captain of the Yale team which succumbed to the Crimson Varsity by the narrow margin of 14-13 last year, led Hartford to triumph by winning three straight folls matches and who out of three matches at the sabres.
