Next Wednesday evening at 7:30 the Editorial Board of the CRIMSON starts its spring competition, for which only sophomores are eligible. Now that the mid-yeas are past, pen and pencil may be grasped, this time for pleasure, and not for duty's sake.
The main business of the board is, of course, the college, from a smell in Mallinkrodt to a Conant speech. Here is the long-sought occasion to fulminate against brother Hearst, to analyse Mr. Roosevelt and all his works, to dig into facts and comment, to carp and to command, to charge about the University with purpose or malice aforethought.
Added incentives are the writing of passing spring fancies in the Vagabond, sneers at Loretta Young in the Moviegoer, reviews of the latest books, hot off the presses, in the Bookshelf, and informal examinations of college in the Crime, as well as other special features. Altogether, for training in critical investigation and varied writing the editorial board offers unparalleled opportunities.
Also on Wednesday evenings at the same time competitions will begin for Business, News, and Photographic Boards.
