Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Trailing until five minutes before the closing gun, the Crimson Varsity cagers rallied to nose out a strong Brown quintet 47-42 at Providence last night, while the Bruin Freshmen trounced the Yardlings 51 to 28.
With Harry Platt scoring 22 points until he was forced from the game on personal fouls early in the second half, the Brown hoopsters seemed on their way to a well-deserved victory, leading by a 22-15 margin at half time.
Folowing Platt's dismissal from action, the Feslermen gained on the leaders until the score stood 37-36 in Brown's favor with seven minutes of play remaining.
Herrick's Shot Gives Crimson Lead
John Herrick, high scorer for the Crimson with 20 tallies, put the Varsity in the lead for the first time with a field goal, but Kelley's foul shot for the Bruins a few moments later tied the count at 38 all.
In rapid succession Herrick and Red Lowman tallied and the Crimson was never again headed despite the opposing team's last minute drive.
Second to Herrick in scoring honors were Lowman and Charlie Lutz with 11 points apiece, with Platt's 22 tallies tops for the Bruins.
Freshman Tilt One-Sided
Hopelessly behind at the half 29-8, the Yardlings never threatened the enemy Freshmen who were led by Bob Person with 26 points. Dan McSweeney topped the Yardling cagers with 8.
In what is expected to be the toughest game so far this season the Varsity basketball team will tonight meet a fighting Boston University quintet at the Indoor Athletic Building at 7:30 o'clock, to be followed by the Freshman game with the Terrier yearlings.
Same Varsity Lineup to Start
Although not venturing a prediction on the outcome, Coach Wes Fesler is confident in the ability of his team and will start his regular five of Captain Vernon Struck and Ulysses Lupien at guards, Lowman and Lutz as forwards, and Herrick at center.
