Cabinet Decides to Replace Arbitrary Selection of Yardlings

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Following a recommendation by the P. B. H. Freshman Committee, the Brooks House Cabinet decided yesterday to pick the Yardling group in future years by competition instead of by the present system of arbitrary selection.

Under the new system, 12 men will be chosen in a competition ending the week before Thanksgiving. A second competition will close at mid-years, with the election of eight or ten additional members.

The Freshman Committee under the leadership of E. Langdon Burwell '41 will play Santa Claus to underprivileged children of Cambridge at a Christmas party in Brooks House Wednesday. Four boxes of new clothes have been purchased for distribution.
