Civil War in Spain claimed another Harvard victim when Owen Appleton '32 was shot down in action October 17, while serving as a lieutenant in the Loyalist forces.

Word of the death of the 28 year old officer in the Lincoln-Washington Battalion was just relayed today to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen L. Appleton of Boston. He graduated from Harvard University with honors in 1932.
