Apparently acting under the old adage that "bowling is more healthy than bulling", student backers of a University bowling alley last night had posted in the Houses and at the Union a petition on their behalf.
As drawn, the petition read in full: "Whereas, there are no convenient facilities for bowling in the immediates vicinity, and
"Whereas there is a real interest in the sport, there fore Be it Resolved: That the University do establish and maintain a bowling alley in or on the buildings near the Yard."
Although one of the Houses would be the most convenient location for any alley it is thought that the noise of falling pins would necessitate expensive sound-proofing.
