Two bewidered and bedraggled stray dogs were picked up by the wheel of fortune Saturday morning, and raised to notoriety for an hour.
9 o'clock--University Hall secretaries arrive for work, find the pups, a big brown one and a little gray one, trying to keep each other warm and dry on the University Hall steps.
9:20 o'clock--The secretaries find themselves touched by the animals' plight. After consultation, they erect a shelter of two umbrellas on the top step to cover the homeless canines, who grin in gratitude.
9:30 o'clock--But discretion wins over impulse, and one of the ladies of officialdom calls the S.P.C.A.
10:15--The cohorts of organized morcy arrive and whisk away the two damp little recipients of bureaucracy's favor from their hour of glory to an anonymous future at the dog-pound.
