NEW HAVEN, Sept, 30--A large group of Yale students gave Eli's new President Seymour a rousing welcome in Woolsey Hall here last night, following a torchlight procession led by the Yale Band.
Following cheering which lasted a full five minutes, Dr. Seymour expressed gratitude for his "wonderful reception," and said the Undergraduate's support came at a time "when no needed it most."
Dr. Seymour will be inducted as President of Yale next Friday. He was named to the position following the resignation of James Rowland Angell last winter.
