TRAINING TABLES TO CONTINUE FOR ALL VARSITY MEN

Others, However, Less Enthusiastic--Only 17 Members of Track Team Will Attend First Lunch Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Training tables will be continued for Varsity teams, it was voted unanimously at the coaches' monthly meeting yesterday morning, in spite of a number of complaints by undergraduates on the various teams.

These complaints, which are usually yearly occurrences, are occasioned by the desire of the team members to eat in the Houses and with their non-athletic friends rather than restrict their friendships almost exclusively to their team-mates.

Too Far Before Breakfast

Last year also there was a complaint that the walk in the morning to the training table for breakfast is too long, and this resulted in cutting out the breakfast training table.

Coaches feel that the training table leads to more team spirit and that the regularity of times for training is of benefit in the training of the team. The football team is about the staunchest supporter of the varsity Club dining halls.

Others Less Enthusiastic

Other teams, however, support it less strongly. The track team at its meeting voted to have a table; only 17 members, however, promised to attend the first meeting at 1 o'clock today.

There is no question of the kind or quality of food served. William J. Bingham '16, director of athletics, expressed himself as confident that the food is sufficiently stimulating in the Houses, the main benefit coming from the regularity of the meals in the Club and the possible but intangible benefits in the way of team spirit.
