Lowell Presides at Alumni Gathering in Afternoon; Students Dine Tonight

Under the direction of President-Emeritus A. Lawrence Lowell '77, President of the Day and first speaker on the program, the Tercentenary Meeting of the Alumni Association will be held in the Theatre at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon.

President Conant follows immediately afterwards with a short address, and then by radio a message from the University of Cambridge by Stanley Baldwin, Chancellor.

Interspersed with singing by the Glee Club, the program carries on with ten-minute addresses by Learned Hand '93, president of the Alumni Association, President Franklin D. Roosevelt '04, James Rowland Angell, president of Yale.

Oxford University is to be represented by its Vice-President and Master of Balliol College, Alexander Dunlop Lindsay, with more music by the Tercentenary Chorus preceding the closing addresses and adjournment until 2036 by George R. Agassiz '84, president of the Board of Overscors, and President Conant.

Evening for Undergraduates

In the evening another official event is scheduled, the Undergraduate Dinner at the Harvard Club of Boston at 7 o'clock.

After dinner Teastmastor Thomas H. Quinn '36 will introduce speaker Edward A. Taft '04, president of the host Club, Nikita Elisseeff, of the University of Paris, Frank P. McInnis, of the University of Toronto, Ian Harvoy, of Oxford University, A. James Copp, 3d, of Stanford University, and Edward K. Rand '94, Pope Professor of Latin.

Dean Hanford and Dean Loighton will also be among those present together with Roger B. Merriman '96, Master of Eliot House, and Julian L. Coolidge '95, Master of Lowell House.

Finally, at the speakers' table are Dr. Elliott C. Cutler '09 and Aldrich Durant '02, Business Manager of the University.

Last Event

Last official event of the Tercentenary is the Third Concert by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, assisted by a Harvard and Radcliffe Chorus, at 9 o'clock.

This will be open to Delegates and members of their families and hosts, the officers of the University, and any ladies who may accompany them.
