Radcliffe authorities were struggling yesterday with the mysterious disappearance of a dinner gong, a checking book, and a clock from Eliot Hall. Although no clue has been unearthed, the possibility that a Harvard student might be connected with their removal was being considered.
No signs of bitterness resulting from the theft could be discovered on the Radcliffe Yard. Everything will be forgiven, according to Superintendent Richard K. Henry (Radcliffe's Apted, just as soon as the objects are returned.
Miss Sherman, assistant dean of the college, was bravely making the best of a bad situation, and when questioned, cheerfully replied, "It is merely a little private matter."
