BROOKS HOUSE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

An annual dinner or an occasional election of officers are the only occasions during a College year when Phillips Brooks House comes directly to the attention of the whole student body; for the rest of the time undergraduates work under its name without any particular recognition. A clothing drive or some such activity may call for the cooperation of the rest of the University, but the large part of the charitable work accomplished is never widely recognized.

The effort expended and the results obtained reflect great credit to the University as a whole. Thanksgiving baskets for poor families, Christmas parties for children in Cambridge, work done in boys clubs in Boston, and many other similar activities do immense good and aid many people in times of strain. Phillips Brooks was known for his charitable efforts; members of the Institution which was organized in his memory and bears his name have carried on nobly.
