FIVE ELEVENS POLISH PLAYS IN BRIGGS CAGE

Captain Dubiel Still Suffering From a Sprained Ankle; Kelly Offers Coaching Services

Soggy fields and a cold drizzle drove the gridsters into the cage yesterday afternoon for their first post-vacation practice. Due to cramped quarters, the squad was divided into five teams and run through signal drill for the entire session.

To emphasize the fact that no position on the starting eleven next year is cinched, Coach Harlow shifted combinations frequently. Play polishing activity was confined almost entirely to straight bucks and off-tackle power pushes, with occasional passes flipped.

Weather permitting, scrimmage will begin on Wednesday, and contact work will probably feature all subsequent practices.

Dubiel Bothered by Ankie

Captain Dubiel is still favoring a sprained ankle suffered while pole-vaulting, and did not report for active duty.

Seven more candidates reported for the first time yesterday, making a total of 92 men to whom equipment has been issued. They are: William T. Glendinning '38, Robert L. Green, Jr. '39, Alan N. Jenkins '39, Frederick W. Jerome '38, Raymond G. Jones '39, Timothy J. Reardon, Jr. '38, and Robert C. Stuart '38.
