David Sturrock New Head of Cuban Branch of Arboretum

David Sturrock, of Lanark, Scotland, former director of the Hershey Agricultural School, Cuba, has been appointed Superintendent of the Atkins Institution of the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University at Soledad, Cuba. He will succeed Robert M. Grey, Superintendent since 1925, who has resigned after thirty years of service at the Institution.

The Atkins Institution, a Harvard station for research in tropical botany and zoology, was founded in 1898. In addition to a laboratory building equipped for research, the station has about one hundred acres devoted to the cultivation of economic plants and to experimental grounds used for the production of improved varieties of sugar cane. Marine studies are carried on at Cienfuegos Bay.
