G. G. GLIDDEN DEFEATS R. W. GILDER IN SQUASH

Playing in an all-Cowles final, Germain G. Glidden defeated Richard W. Gilder in the intercollegiate squash championship in Hartford on Saturday, 15-13, 15-10, 15-10.

Glidden, always a smooth tournament player went through three quick games with hardly a fault, making numerous "boast shots" which crack three walls and finally nick a corner to fall dead on the floor.

According to Coach Cowles, this shot can be pulled off by the best player only two out of five times, but Glidden can work the shot four out of five tries. The ball hits a ade wall, then the front wall, and finally the other side wall, falling dead on the corner.

Earlier in the afternoon Gilder downed Hunter Loft of Pennsylvania in a semi-final match 15-10, 15-9, 15-13, Glidden earing for LeRoy Lewis of the same college 15-5, 15-7, 15-12.
