Proving too strong for the visiting tontingent, the Vanderbilt College hockey team of Yale defeated the Winthrop House sextet in New Haven yesterday afternoon by the score of 4 goals to 2.
Starting with a listless first period in which there was no scoring, the game was livened up in the second stanza as Dunham of the home team scored twice in rapid succession on nice passes from Knowles and Gibson.
Hindle Scores
Late in the period, Joe Hindle, wing on the Puritan second line, drove a fast one past the Eli net tender after an assist by Dan Burbank.
Also playing on the second line, Johnny Erhard scored Winthrop's other tally towards the end of the last frame after a sole dash through the Eli defenders.
