DUBIEL OUT FOR WEEK

Tackling Practice Playing Large Part in Spring Grid Work

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Undismayed by the summer-like weather yesterday, the gridders turned in a good, business-like workout at Soldiers Field, topped off by a fast scrimmage.

The coaching staff is plainly pleased by the spirit that has been shown the past week, and their only fear is that there will be a let-down after vacation.

Dubiel Injured

The only bolt on the horizon at the present time is Captain Dubiel's ankle injury, which he incurred while pole-vaulting behind the Stadium. He appeared at practice today on crutches, but his ankle should heal quickly and he is expected to be ready to go after the recess.

Tackling practice is taking up more and more of the time, and the results are apparent. Both backs and linemen are being put through the rigorous course and by next fall every man on the squad should form a strong defense unit.
