GLEE CLUB WILL TOUR DURING THE VACATION

Making its first Spring Vacation trip in over five years, the Glee Club will give a whirlwind series of concerts in New York and Philadelphia. They will leave for the trip Friday afternoon on the Fall River Boat.

The Harvard Club of New York will witness the opening concert of the trip at 8.00 o'clock Saturday evening for which the 60 Glee Clubbers will present their usual repertoire of numbers.

Radcliffe Joins

Joining with 75 members of the Radcliffe Choral Society, the Crimson singers will give their biggest concert of the trip Sunday evening at 8.00 o'clock in New York's Town Hall, center of musical interest in the metropolis. "The Peaceable Kingdom", by Randall Thompson '20, which had its world's premiere at Sanders Theatre on March 3, and was especially assigned to the University singers, stands out among the selections which will be sung by the combined choristers. The first half hour of concert will be broadcast over the Columbia Broadcasting System.

After this the Club travels in the Philadelphia Academy of Music to take part in the lecture-concert with Olin Downes on Monday night. Downes, who is the music critic for the New York Times, will lecture on the history and development of Choral Music while the Glee Club illustrates by rendering chosen selections.

Returning to New York in time to broadcast over station WEAF from 5.30-6.00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, a selected chorus of 26, chosen from the entire club, will join the other members at the Brownville High School Auditorium that evening for the concluding concert of the trip.
