Competing yesterday afternoon in the annual Freshman swimming championships, the Yarding mermen who had not won numerals swam in six races which were held in the pool at the Indoor Athletic Building at 4.30 o'clock.
Outstanding performer among the 37 entries, Allan Gilliam scored victories in both the 100-yard breast stroke and 150-yard medley race, establishing the times of 1:20.2 and 2:07.2 minutes to win the respective events.
Diving championships, usually held in conjunction with the swimming meet, have been postponed until shortly after the Spring vacation. All Freshmen are eligible to enter this event and to try for the cup which is given to the most polished performer in the Class.
