Down Yale 14 to 13 in Eighth of Year, Balancing One Defeat

Climaxing the most successful season in recent years, the Freshman fencers pricked Yale 14-13 Saturday night at the Indoor Athletic Building for their eighth victory of the year which contains but one set back at the hands of the undefeated Choate School swordsmen.

Led by Captain Len Leboeuf and with Nat Batchelder, Jim Cahn, and Joe Doyle in starring roles, Coach Rene Percy's team won the epee easily 6-3, but dropped the foils decision by the same score. The match was decided when Batchelder won two bouts in the sabre to give the Crimson a 5-4 edge.
