Debating Brown University at Providence last night, John A. Moore '38 and Jay Kauffman '38, representing the Debating Council, lost the decision by a two to one vote of the judges.
Harvard supported the negative of the question: "Resolved, That the social security legislation of the last Congress is detrimental to the interests of the American people". Last night's defeat marked the first time the Crimson has failed to triumph in the six contests of the spring season which have been held so far.
Quinn Society Today
Today the Council will engage in its third radio debate of the season when John S. Weber '37, James J. Fuld '37 and Vincent J. Rossi '37 meet the Quinn Society of Cambridge over WNAC and the Yankee Network at 3 o'clock.
The subject of the debate will be the same as that in the Brown fracas last night. Weber will speak first and Rossi will give the rebuttal.
