SECOND HARLOW SQUAD HAS INITIAL PRACTICE

Atmosphere of Work Prevails in Cage as 60 Grid Candidates Are Drilled in Fundamentals

Compilation for the second edition of the Harlow football squad got under way yesterday afternoon, as 60 candidates reported for the initial practice session held in Briggs cage.

Although more men reported for the first practice last spring, Coach Harvard explained that all who have hour exams impending have been excused.

An atmosphere of serious work prevailed from the start. No introductory talk was given, each man being sent to end-coach Was Fesler, lineman Ray Crowther, or backfield mentor Howard O'Dell immediately upon reporting. For the first part of the afternoon, emphasis was placed on brushing up fundamentals.

Breaking precedent set by the opening sessions of spring practice in previous years, four teams were arbitrarily chosen and run through signal practice for the remainder of the afternoon.
