Finishing strong in the second over-time period, Yale's strong forward line broke through the Crimson defence to score two field goals and edge the Varsity quintet 39-35 at New Haven Saturday night.

Harvard started out strong, leading 15-6 midway through the five period but the Elis began to surge ahead, cutting the Crimson lead to 16-15 at the half-time.

Goals by Ray Lavietes and Bob Beckwith knotted the first overtime period at 35-all. A sudden Yale charge down the court with goals by Miles and Frantz of Yale edged the Crimson out of the running to bring the final score to 39-35.
