Combining the Schools of Landscape Architecture and City Planning with the School of Architecture, a new division to be known as the Graduate School of Design has been approved by the Board of Overseers.

Joseph F. Hudnut, professor of Architecture, who will be Dean of the new school, made the following statement:

"Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Regional Planning are professions concerned with the arranging and shaping of materials. Not only are their objectives the same, but their basic processes are identical. It seems logical therefore, to include the fundamental preparation for all, in the curricula of one school."

Bremer W. Pond, professor of Landscape Architecture, will be chairman in this department, while the department of City Planning will be headed by Henry V. Hubbard '97, professor of Regional Planning. Dean Hudnut will be chairman of the department of Architecture.
