NEW EVENTS OFFERED IN QUADRANGULAR MEET

CORNELL THE TEAM TO BE BEATEN IN BOTH RELAY ACES

Track fans of Harvard and Greater Boston will be let in at a public accouchement when the Quadrangular Meet conceived in the minds of the Athletic Associations of Harvard, Yale, Cornell, and Dartmouth first sees the light of day on Saturday, February 29.

In addition to there being a new meet, the events have been switched around. The 300, 600, and 1000 yard runs have been cut out to make room for two relay races. A one mile and a two mile relay race will be two of the features of the evening.

It is the two mile relay in which Harvard will be at its strongest. Alec Northrop, strong miler, Bill O'Connor, a 600-yarder who has traveled the distance in 1:16, Sherman Brayton, a sophomore, and Cleveland Floyd all will be extended by the Cornell team which promises to break the eight minute mark and which is sending its strongest team in years, but they don't appear to have enough to win the two-mile relay.

In the one-mile relay, however, it is the Cornell runners who are picked to flash across the line before the Crimson quartet composed of John Dorman, running anchor, Frank Leary, a member of the Freshman team last year, Dick Brayton, who is shaping up very well this year, and Charlie Cretzmeyer.
