POLL SHOWS STUDENTS FAVOR LANDON, BORAH

Harvard joins much national sentiment in overwhelmingly favoring Governor "Alf" Landon in the race for the Republican nomination for President, according to the results of the most recent CRIMSON-Herald-Tribune Poll.

The Kansas governor, who seems assured of getting the great block of uninstructed delegates at the convention, leads Senator William E. Borah by more than 100 votes, polling 279 to the Idahoan's 167. Herbert Hoover is the third choice of Harvard, with 98 votes.

Four-fifths of the thousand-odd votes cast favored one of the Republican candidates. Colonel Frank Knox is the fourth in the list of preferences, and the well-known Chicago publisher is closely followed by Arthur Vandenberg, Senator from Michigan.

Dickinson Gets Only 9 Votes

Dickinson of Iowa gained only 9 supporters among the strongly conservative voters, although experts concede him an excellent chance should the convention be deadlocked.

Among th 134 votes which favored other candidates were ten cast for Al Smith, six for ex-Governor Winant of New Hampshire, three for both Ogden Mills and Governor Hoffman, of Lindbergh kidnapping fame.
