UNION COMMITTEE GIVES '40 SPECIAL CHRISTMAS DINNER

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yardlings eagerly awaiting the beginning of winter vacation will be tendered a special Christmas dinner on Thursday evening, December 17, in the Union.

Entertainment for the affair which will come under the auspices of the Union Committee, has not yet been definitely arranged, but it is known that the dining hall will be specially decorated, and the Committee is negotiating for a local orchestra to furnish music between 6 and 7 o'clock. They are also trying to procure several Freshman members of the Glee Club to sing Christmas songs.

Douglas Mercer '40, chairman of the Committee, announced that the first Freshman dance of the year, held last Saturday, was a financial success, and that all of the expenses of the Christmas dinner will be met by its proceeds.
