Stillman Swelled As Colds Drive Record Number of 41 Sufferers to the Infirmary

Pneumonia Making Exceptionally Large Inroads

Stillman Infirmary was again taxed to capacity as an epidemic of colds swept through the University sending 41 men to bed. This is almost twice the average number of men usually in the Infirmary.

Two men are there with pneumonia which has struck the University unusually severely this year. Already there have been eight cases of it while last year there were only ten in the whole season.

A year ago, at this time, according to Arile V. Bock, Henry K. Oliver Professor of Hygiene in charge of Stillman, there were only 13 men in the Infirmary.

Bock characterized the present overflow as the usual water epidemic of acute respiratory affections which comes once or twice every cold season.

There is no special danger of a spread of the infections except that which is usual in the case of colds. No special concern for the present situation was expressed by Dr. Bock.
