With two strong lines and a third sophomore line ready for action, the Varsity hockey team is looking forward with justified confidence to the opening with Tech, which is scheduled to be played at the Boston Arena tomorrow night.
The Freshman sextet will open its season tomorrow as well, in a game with Rindge Tech at the Boston Garden. The game will be played at 2:00 o'clock.
The Crimson's first line finds George Ford at center, Austle Harding at left wing and Ralph Pope at right wing, while Coach Stubbs' second line will be made up of last year's sophomore trio, Johnny Mechem, George Roberts, and Ned Cutter.
Russ Allen and Traf Hicks will start in the defense positions, while Leo Ecker, whom Coach Stubbs has converted into a back because of his bad leg, and Gene Emerson will stand ready to replace them. George Mahoney will probably first see action as goalie, with Nort Kidder and Dave Wilder as alternates.
Displaying characteristic power and smoothness the Crimson in the opening game last year sank the Tech pucksters under a 12-0 score.
