Breaking a tradition followed since 1874 by showing two modern plays instead of those of older authors, the French Club will present "Aisle de Nuit," by Max Mauray, and "Le Commissaire Est Bon Enfant," by Georges Courteline, tonight at 8:30 o'clock at Brattle Hall.
Reserved seats at $1.00 or general admission tickets at $.50 may be obtained at the Coop, Herrick's or Eliot House G-34.
Among the patronesses will be the Mesdames James B. Conant, Charles S. Bird, Jr., Julian L. Coolidge, Courtenay Crocker, Wallace B. Donham, Louis J. A. Mercier, Andre Morize, and John B. Potter.
The play is an annual affair; last year "Monsieur de Pourceaugnac," by Moliere, was given before an audience of 400 in Lowell House.
Sumner Willard '37 will direct the production of "Aisle de Nuit," while "Le Commissaire Est Bon Enfant" is directed by Mile. Germaine Arosa, who has directed successfully several plays in Paris and Boston.
