PROSPECTS FOR I.C.4A. COMPETITION ARE DARK

Hayden Channing, Henry Marcy Are the Only Bright Spots in Otherwise Dismal Appearing Prospects

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Whoever's going to win the I.C.A.A.A.A. cross country meet at New Haven next Friday, November 20, hasn't yet been announced, but it looks fairly apparent that the Harvard group will not compile the lowest score necessary for the win.

The Crimson contingent will have an edge over some of the teams by virtue of their having run there a week ago in the Triangular run. Over that course too they ran one of their best races as a group over the admittedly tough layout which goes up and up to form one of the hilliest routes any of the teams entered will be forced to run.

Marcy and Channing Best

Too, Hayden Channing, the hardworking captain of the harriers ran a perfectly swell race when he came in third behind the fast stepping Vilbur Woodland of Yale and one of his teammates. Henry Marcy was right behind him also, but these two runners are about the only ones who can be counted on to do anything very spectacular.

Only a small group will be sent down to the Yale course, probably five men.

But in spite of the fact that Marcy and Channing have run good races, and in spite of the fact that the others stuck pretty closely behind them, they still failed to lick Yale which will be entered in the I.C. 4 A competition. In other words the outlook is dark, so dark in fact that no one is doing a great deal of worrying about the affair one way or another.
