What happens when economists get together to talk over the lighter things of life was revealed last night at a beer party in Winthrop House following a House dinner for economics concentrations.
There Professors Taussig, Ferry. Graustein, Harris, Pratt, and Lamb gathered with some 35 students eager to imbibe some new theories, and a little beer besides. Although the theories flowed freely, very little liquid was left for students, since the economists quickly emptied one whole keg of Harvard Larger (advt.)
The discussion, although beginning on the relatively high plane of depreciation of currencies developed finally into a give and take argument on why you could buy a steak dinner in Canada for 50 cents when its costs $1.25 here, taking into consideration the fact that the Canadian dollar is worth 99 cents in U. S. money.
