Varsity Must Respect Heavy Bruin Eleven on Saturday

Driving his Varsity squad ahead at top speed in preparation for next Saturday's clash with Brown, Coach Dick Harlow devoted most of yesterdays session to work on such fundamentals as blocking, tackling and pass defense.

Assistant-Coach Rao Crowther, who scouted the Bruins in their last game, brought back reports calculated to instill respect and fear, and the team is not regarding Brown as any "breather."

Brown, a heavy, driving team, with a flashy offense, only needs a little more fire to become a really great squad, according to reports.

A medical cheek-up of the squad indicated that for the first time this season everyone of the 37 men will be ready to practice today. At the beginning of the practice yesterday time was devoted principally to kicking.

A new system in regard to opponents plays is being developed this year, with the G Varsity squad learning the Brown offense, rather than the Jayrees. The C eleven was ripping wide holes in the B line with the tricky Brown plays, but a complete A team was not used defensively against the Bruin attack.
