TOURS OF WIDENER TO BE OFFERED STUDENTS

Hamlin Pleased by Success of Recent Series of Freshman Tours; He Will Lead Trips During October

The mechanism by which 2,000,000 volumes in the College Library and 1,00,000 volumes in the Departmental Libraries are recorded, will become available for inspection by upperclassmen in a series of tours beginning Thursday.

Encouraged by the results of six tours conducted for Freshmen during the week after the Tercentenary, Arthur Hamlin '34, Curator of the Poetry Room, now plans a second series which will give upperclassmen a chance to stray off the narrow beaten path.

These tours will start on Thursday at 2:00 o'clock, and will continue of successive Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of October. Students must sign up at the Poetry Room in Widener Library before hand to prevent too great a crowd on any one trip.

Among the things which Hamlin will point out are: special collections, the entry system in the public catalogue bibliographies, stacks and archives, use of the official catalogue, and important reference books in the catalogue and order department.
