Princeton Eleven, Faced With Letdown, Instead Is Brimming With Confidence

Princeton, N. J., Oct. 30 Princeton's football team with eight of last year's regulars in the lineup will invade Cambridge tomorrow confident of duplicating last year's 35-0 victory over Harvard. In the face of the mediocre season enjoyed be Coach Fritz Crisler's eleven thus far this confidence hardly seems justified. But a team which includes veterans Captain Montgomery, Charley Toil, Fred Ritter, George Stoess, and Steve Cullinan in the line and Ken Sandbach, Jack White, and Chick Kaufman in the backfield boasts enough potential power to run rough-shod over most of the stronger grid teams in the east.

And the Tiger players feel that tomorrow is the day when Princeton should at last string scoring form which it has failed to attain in its opening four encounters. Only against Penn have the Tigers evidenced some of the offensive which they pack on paper, and yet against Penn, lack of scoring punch handed Princeton its second defeat in 31 games. This despite the fact that the Crisler men outgained the Quakers by a wide margin.

Coach Crisler falls to share the sanguine confidence of his players. His scouts have called Harvard 50 per cent stronger on the offensive and equal on the defensive to last year's Crimson eleven; he is fighting desperately with his charges to avoid a let-down after the grueling contests with Penn and Navy.
