Boston College and New Hampshire Considered Chief Contenders

While the Harvard team takes a weekend off, six other cross country teams will race over the Charles River Course in the Harvard Open Intercollegiate Cross Country Run this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. The six colleges competing are Bowdoin, Dartmouth, New Hampshire, Springfield, Vermont, and Boston College.

As before the race will be run on the Soldiers Field Course, approximately 4 1/2 miles long, starting at the Larz Anderson Bridge on the Cambridge side of the river and finishing just beyond the Newell Boat House on the Boston side of the river.

Boston College has a wealth of power including Don McKee and Den Hines, but it is as yet untested. New Hampshire, which won the Triangular Meet last week, is the other main contender for the trophy and with the larger squad would appear to have the edge. The other colleges are not expected to show anything very dangerous.
