COX AND KURTZ HIT NEW DEAL METHODS AT G.O.P. MEETING

White two speakers, former Congressman J. Banks Kurtz, and Channing Cox, hit out at the New Deal and its "attempts to undermine the Supreme Court," plans were revealed for a monster Republican parade to be held in Boston Saturday evening following the Princeton game.

Speaking to a rally sponsored by the Harvard Landon-Knox Club, Kurtz claimed a Republican majority of 350,000 in Pennsylvania and declared that "America is doomed unless Landon is elected." Cox declared that the issues were many, and included "Farleyism, politics in relief, deceitful bookkeeping, economy, and security." He agreed that business had improved but said recovery "started only when the N. R. A. and the A. A. A. were thrown out by the Supreme Court."

Despite the improved conditions, he cited the fact that 20 millions of Americans were still on relief--a figure, he declared, which was as high as at any time during the depression. "How long can we continue spending two dollars for every dollar we take in?" he asked. "It is the beginning of the decay of democratic society."

The torchlight parade, scheduled to begin shortly after 6 o'clock Saturday, is sponsored by the Republican state committee, and will consist of delegations from all the various town and county committees and Young Republican groups. In this latter section the college G. O. P. will be located.

The Harvard Landon-Knox Club and all Republicans from Harvard are due to meet at Fairfield and Marlborough Streets. The parade, complete with torchlights, red fire, and other paraphernalia furnished by the Committee, will wind its way up Beacon Hill, past the State House, and eventually end at the Boston Garden. Here John D. M. Hamilton, chairman of the National Committee, will address the final Victory Rally of the party, at which over 18,000 people are expected. Also scheduled to speak are the candidates for state office, Henry Cabot Lodge '24, John W. Haigis, and others.
