DEAN ANNOUNCES RULES AND LAWS FOR ABSENTEE VOTERS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

University Hall will back the student voter, with reservations. In a statement issued yesterday, Dean Hanford announced that absence for balloting purposes on Tuesday, November 3, will be excused only in the cases of men who live in states which do not have authorized absentee voting.

As far as Massachusetts citizens are concerned, the State law holds that an absentee voter is one who is separated by at least two municipalities from the city or town where he is registered.

Also facing the absentee problem is Leverett House which will have balloting for its House Committee on the day of the National plebiscite when residents may be out of town.
