Protesting against the expulsion of Robert Burke from Columbia University, the Civil Liberties Committee of the Harvard Student Union at their first organization meeting last night passed a resolution to send a telegram to President Nicholas Murray Butler.

Burke, president of his class, was expelled for speaking at an outdoor meeting last May called by the American Student Union as an act of protest against Columbia's sending of a delegate to the celebration at Heidelberg University.

Other business brought up at the meeting included making plans for study and discussion groups on problems of civil liberty, led, if possible, by Faculty members. A resolution was also passed to find out if the Massachusetts Legislature will hold any further hearings on the Oath Bill.

The Committee will attempt to get for their meeting next week Miss Sue Blangdon who will tell of her experiences while investigating conditions amongst the share-croppers of Kansas, Arkansas, and the South.
