Numbers Are Accumulating and Plans Are Crystalizing for Crimson Directory

Forging ahead towards the CRIMSON's unprecedented publication of a College Student Telephone Directory, its compilers are seizing and digesting the number of each telephone as soon as it is installed in a College Dormitory. Access to these numbers has been furnished through the courtesy of the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.

The CRIMSON Book will list each man in a suite under his own name, alphabetically. If one or more men in one suite have registered with the Telephone Company under the number of the suite next door, they will be listed under that number. If they are not thus registered and wish to be listed under a neighbor's number, they may get permission from the owner of that telephone and notify the CRIMSON, in writing.

Inhabitants of an entry where there is a pay station will NOT be listed. Pay stations and the numbers of the rooms they serve will be listed under the name of the building. The reason for this is that pay stations are meant primarily for outgoing calls, and if they were always in use for incoming calls, they would be unable to serve their purpose. This also makes things easier for the person who would have to answer the 'phone.

Officers of the University and graduate students who live in College Buildings will be listed.

Names, addresses, and numbers of the Commuters will be as thoroughly checked, cross-checked, and double-checked as possible, with the aid of the Telephone Company. If anyone thinks there is a chance of an error in his case, he is urged to notify the CRIMSON in writing as to how he should be listed.

Allowing for adequate checking and for late connections, the book should be published within about three weeks. One will be distributed free to each suite in College Dormitories. Others will cost 25 cents.
