With first practice on Wednesday and announcement of coaches yesterday House football has become reality this week.
Over 75 men reported for the first workout, a number which Adolph W. Samborski '26, director of Intramural Athletics expects to be doubled next week.
Coaches Appointed
Adams, Kirkland, and the champion Winthrop Puritans showed the largest turnouts, with others not far behind.
Heading the list of coaches as announced by Samborski comes the name of Bernard D. White '32, former Varsity player, who will be in charge of the Kirkland Deacons.
Other coaches are: Adams, Donald L. Hassenfratz 3L; Dudley, Frederick W. Rys 2G.B.; Dunster, Pierce A. Hammond, Jr., 3L; Eliot, Charles R. Hulsart, Jr., 3L; Leverett, Ralph D. Semerad 2L; Lowell, William Gibbs 1G.B.; and Winthrop, William C. Nero.
Opener Thursday
First games are scheduled for Thursday, October 8, when Leverett meets Adams, and Lowell tackles Eliot.
The Puritans will be fighting to retain their championship which they have held for the past two years.
