Throwing a discordant note into the two-cornered rivalry of Richard M. Russell '14 and Robert Luce '82 for congressman from local District 9, a progressive Harvard political group organizes in Phillips Brooks House at 8 o'clock tonight to support Florence H. Luscomb for the office.
Under the organization of John H. Reynolds 6G., and Albert L. Lesser '39, the members will back Miss Luscomb on the grounds that she supports peace and social security legislation, both of which they feel, the regular candidates have blocked.
Open to everyone connected with Harvard, the Luscomb Club will play an independent role. It plans to be particularly active in the Cambridge wards of the congressional district.
