SEVEN APPOINTMENTS TO FACULTY ARE ANNOUNCED

Seven changes and appointments to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences have been approved by the Corporation, it was announced yesterday, as follows:

Clarence H. Haring, '07, as Robert Woods Professor of Latin American History;

Hans Zinsser, as Charles Wilder Professor of Bacteriology and Immunology;

John George Jack, a member of the Harvard Faculty since 1890, as assistant professor of Dendrology, emeritus, effective since September 1, 1935;

Oakes Ames '98, as research professor of Botany, effective since September 1, 1935;

Elmer Drew Merrill, professor of Botany and administrator of Botanical Collections, as acting supervisor of the Arnold Arboretum and of the Atkins Institution of the Arnold Arboretum at Soledad, Cuba;

Keith R. Porter, of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, as Austin Teaching fellow of Biology until September 1, 1936;

Robert F. Young, of Pittsburgh, Pa., as instructor in Public Speaking until September 1, 1936.
