CRIMSON SKIERS GAIN FIFTH PLACE IN MEET
Four Harvard Men Show Well in Jumping and Downhill Racing at Lake Placid Competition
Amid a holiday crowd of 600 at the Lake Placid Club, the Crimson skiers took a fifth place in the intercollegiate competition against such snow isolated colleges as Dartmouth, Ottowa, Toronto, and McGill.
Bill Loomis, Peter Brooks, Dave Emerson, and Harry Locke made the trip and entered in all the events; cross country, slalom, downhill, and jumping. The team did best in the jumping and downhill, but could only get ninth in the other two events.
The meet was beautifully run, only the weather failing to cooperate completely, so that even the University of Georgia's lone representative complained of the lack of snow on the cross country race, although the jumping conditions were good.
Dartmouth won the meet, with Captain Woods carrying off every conceivable sort of cup. Next came McGill, then New Hampshire, followed by Williams, with the Crimson in fifth place.
Dartmouth won the cross country and the slalom.
