Eight hundred fifty-four students, selected from a group of more than 1,400 applicants, have been admitted to the Freshman Class at Yale, it was announced yesterday. This year shows an increase over last year in the number of those applying for admission.

In the Class of 1939 are included the highest ranking scholars from 38 of the leading secondary schools in the United States.
