Tryouts Mark Beginning of Band's Seventeenth Season

Trips to Princeton and West Point Included in Schedule

On Tuesday, September 24, and Wednesday, September 25, at 2 o'clock, the Harvard University Band will open its seventeenth season with tryouts which are open to all members of the University.

F. Leroy Anderson '29, who has been with the band for ten years, will conduct again; he is planning some new arrangements and a revision of "Wintergreen." Guy V. Slade '32 will continue as drillmaster; this will be his eighth season.

An enrollment of 120 is expected this year as against 102 of last.

Freshmen who complete their first year in the band are eligible to compete for manager. This position carries with it a salary of $125.
