TRACKMEN ENTERED IN WESTERN COAST MATCH

While ten Harvard trackman uphold her reputation overseas, two of their teammates will vie with American athletes on the west coast as the nation's best eiuderman gather for the N.C.A.A. meet.

Dick Johnson and Mal Millard will entrain for Berkeley late this week to toss the javelin and hurl the discus for Harvard on June 19 and 20. Both men are in good form and should bring back a few credits for the Mikkola tradition.

The captaincy for next year was finally decided with the election of Milt Green. The Newton flash took firsts in three events at Yale and will be the only Harvard athlete to compete in more than one event in England, being entered in both hurdle events and the broad jump.

Meanwhile the choice of competitors for the Oxford-Cambridge meet has been completed. The runoffs went badly for the favorites, for Bob Playfair lost to Yale's Woodland in the 3000, while Johnny Dorman shut out Tony Bliss for the right to run along with Brayton in the 800. Jack Scheu who won the event at Yale, will restrict his efforts to the 1500 against the Britons.

The aggregation embarks on July 5, and will arrive on July 12. The meet is on the 18th.
