DEAN MURDOCK TO TAKE SABBATICAL ABSENCE

Birkhoff to Replace Murdock as Dean; Professor Wright to Be Master of Leverett House

Kenneth Ballard Murdock '16, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Professor of English, and Master of Leverett House, will take a sabbatical leave of absence from the University during the first half of 1935-36; it was announced last night.

Wright to Be House Master

Benjamin F. Wright, Jr., Assistant Professor of Government and Tutor in the Division of History, Government, and Economics, will be Acting House Muster during Dean Murdock's absence. Wright is at present a resident tutor in Leverett House.

Birkhoff Acting Dean

Replacing Dean Murdock as Dean of the Faculty is George D. Birkhoff '05, Perkins Professor of Mathematics, and Tutor in the Division of Mathematics, who will become Acting Dean for one year from September 1, Professor Birkhoff was granted an honorary S.B. in education by Harvard in 1933.
