Improving after its defeat by Yale last week, the Freshman golf team held Exeter's strong squad to a 4 1/2 to 4 1/2 tie at Exeter Saturday.
Louis Alis dropped his match to Jackson of Exeter, 2 and 1, while Al Pierce was losing to Wendell, 4 and 3.
Norman Mendleson started the Crimson winning streak, by beating James of the Academy 5 and 4. Don Prouty split with Henderson, Prouty winning the low ball. Fred Olson trounced Mason of the New Hampshire school, by the one-sided score of 6 and 4, and in the last match of the day, Bob Sides lost to Heller of Exeter, 7 and 5.
Saturday's match was the last one scheduled for the season. Previously, Andover was swamped, 3-1, and last week Yale beat the 1938 golfers, 7-2.
