Five men will enter the finals Friday, as a result of the novice singles trials held yesterday.
Four heats were run off, with Robert M. Parker '38 winning the first in three minutes, 45 seconds. Lawrence S. Collins '37 finished ahead of the field in the second heat in four minutes, two and one half seconds. The most sensational time of the day was made by Morrison C. Haviland '37 who romped home in the third heat in the time of three minutes, 39 seconds. In the last heat Albert Goodhue, Jr. '37 won in three minutes, 55 seconds. Frank A. West, Jr. 2GB. was fouled and will compete in the finals with the four winners.
The Carroll Cup trials for the most experienced singleman in the University will be run on a three-quarter mile course, this afternoon. The finals of all events; the wherries, the broad and narrow comps, the novices and the Carroll Cup will be held tomorrow.
